Torrevieja May Fair

Whilst it could not claim to be as large or famous as Seville’s famous Fair, the Torrevieja May Fair is a very important event in the town’s calendar. To give you an idea of it’s stature, here is how the 2014 event was announced.

TORREVIEJA MAY FAIR 2014

WEDNESDAY 14th. MAY
21.00h. Inauguration and lighting of the Fair. Music by Union Musical Torrevejense
directed by Jaime Belda Cantavella and the choir and Orchestra Salinas de
Torrevieja “Maestro Ricardo Lafuente” directed by Aurelio Martínez.
Fireworks
21.30h. Dance Show by Paya’s Dance Academy

THURSDAY 15th. MAY
Semifinal of the 2nd. Sevillanas Dance Contest, in aid of the NGO Nueva
Fraternidad
21.30h. Flamenco Dancing Show by Academy Lola Morales
22:30h. Music and dance by “Los Duendes” “Ritmo y Compás por sevillanas y
rumbas”

FRIDAY 16th. MAY
Semifinal of the 2nd. Sevillanas Dance Contest, in aid of the NGO Nueva
Fraternidad
21.30h. Dance Show by pupils of the Municipal Dance School directed by Nuria
Girona.
23.00h. Manuel de Segura, Ana del Río y María García will perform in homage to
Lolita Sevilla

12.00h. The mass “Misa Rociera “at the Inmaculada Concepción Church, by the
Choir of Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti”
Horse Parade from the Church square to the Fair at the harbour, until 16.00h.
Semifinal of the 2nd. Sevillanas Dance Contest
21.00h. Sevillanas Dance Show by “Embrujo”
21.30h. Flamenco Dance Show by the Dance School Mª del Angel
22:30h. Final of the 4th. Copla Singing Contest “Ciudad de Torrevieja”
24:00h. Performance of “Explosión”, Flamenco Show by the Company JM

SUNDAY 18th. MAY
11.00h. Horse Parade at the harbour until 16:00h.
12.00h. Equestrian Show at the harbour. Free entrance
19.00h. Final of the 2nd Sevillanas Dance Contest, in aid of the NGO Nueva
Fraternidad
21.00h. Dance by the Dance School “Sancho & Martínez”.
22.00 h. Music by the following Chorus from Torrevieja: Coro “Alba Rociera”, Coro
Rociero de la Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti”, Coro “Brisa del Sur” de la
Asociación Cultural Andaluza y Coro Rociero de la “Hermandad Virgen del Rocío”.
23.30 h. Fair Closing
