Gran Canaria

Welcome to our Gran Canaria It looks a lot like the GC you know and love, no doubt. For, unlike those who class themselves as travellers rather than tourists, Playa del Inglés is not a dirty word in our household.
Because, having been to more beaches on the island than many who were born and bred here, we’ve come to the conclusion that Playa del Inglés is one of our favourites. The sooner they pull down the resort’s 70s shopping centres the better, though.

Not that we’re on PDI every day. For one thing, we live in the north east of the island rather than the south east; in the capital, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. And for another, we work for a living; including putting together the most entertaining blog posts about the island for our dedicated followers to lap up on a regular basis.
Now, where else will you be able to learn how to survive as a vegetarian on Gran Canaria? Or find out about the island’s hidden depths and legal highs? Don’t bother answering, they’re rhetorical questions.

Allow us to share the island’s secrets with you. From it being home to Europe’s only permanently-open outdoor cinema to its increasing popularity with digital nomads And on our Facebook and Twitter pages, we collate the latest GC-related news and views.

Gran Canaria’s rightly famous for its surf. But we show you that its turf is just as demanding of your time and attention. And let’s not forget about the island’s urban side.
