Help At Home Costa Blanca is growing in strength, number and awareness around the Costa Blanca, with the latest area to be incorporated, Quesada, where they are developing a new group of volunteers to cover this area more efficiently. They are always seeking more interested people for different posts within Help At Home.
Help At Home have a UK / Spanish qualified nurse, a Volunteer coordinator plus a number of volunteers, one of whom is a retired Nurse, while her husband is a retired ambulance driver. These amazing people have volunteered to help those in need of a little free time, time for themselves away from their normal day to day caring duties, through the help at home short term scheme, whatever age or nationality the carers might be.
To develop the Quesada and Rojales area further, Help At Home are in need of more volunteers, so if you are interested, please email for further information.
Help At Home Costa Blanca are developing more areas that need their services, with the next district they intend to expand into is to provide coverage to La Marina and Santa Pola by Easter. Ideally they require ten volunteers to start each area and this must include a qualified nurse of any nationality. Along with the nurse, each area needs a volunteer coordinator, someone who is a good organiser and does not mind visiting each client / case to assess their needs, which could be anything from nursing care to home help.
Help At Home’s service program is based around the three ‘R’s: Receive, Respond and Release. Their service is provided absolutely free for short-term cases, usually for four to six weeks. Should a client needs entail long term help, they contact local Social Services and work with them to hand over the case, ensuring a smooth transaction and uninterrupted care. They work closely with Caritas Orihuela Costa and Social Services in Torrevieja and are in the process of expanding their services even further by joining the Torrevieja platform of Charities and Associations and helping with the development of a similar platform of Charities for the Orihuela Costa.
