Teulada – Moraira
Since I first moved to Spain in 1992, I have been hearing people talk about town x,y or z as the “Jewel in the Crown” of the a,b or c coast. It could be Sitges, Salou, Gandia, Javea or Marbella. All have their fans. One town, I would definitely shout out is Teulada-Moraira. They are often thought of as two separate towns but legally they are, indeed, just one. Teulada is a typical small Spanish town with some nice shops on the main street whilst Moraira is the coastal town. It sits between Calpe and Javea which are both well-respected towns in their own rights and certainly if you are looking to live or even visit Teulada you will probably find yourself visiting Calpe and Javea for shopping and events. A little further to the south past Calpe, you have another “jewel” in Altea so you can see that indeed the whole coast is a jewel. Inland you have the mountain ranges which are also paradises for walkers and climbers. Just choose your jewels!
The small town around the marina at Moraira is full of delightful bars, restaurants and other eateries which often serve some of the best fish I have eaten anywhere in Spain. What really sets Teulada-Moraira apart is the wonderful bays, beaches and coves all along its Mediterranean coast. From busy beaches with golden sands to quiet coves that cannot be reached by vehicles, there is a choice for everybody. Talking of choices, as a tourist you also have a good range of hotels from quite basic hostales to luxury hoteles across all price bands.
For many years, Girasol Homes have been helping people move to the area. They have an intimate knowledge of the Teulada Moraira and indeed the whole Alicante province. They have their own office in the town and will be able to help you at every stage of the process.
