Manilva Village is a pretty white village on the Western Costa del Sol, between Estepona and Sotogrande and famous for its sweet wines. The production of wines in the area makes for a stunning landscape of vines stretching down to the coast, and there’s an excellent wine museum in the town where you can learn about the production process and they even have monthly wine tasting events there. The village is sleepy, with a number of little cafes, lots of playgrounds, a great sports centre and outdoor public swimming pool open in the summer, plus a village school for primary and secondary students.
Shaw Marketing Services are aserving the whole Costa del Sol and helping businesses to promote themselves. They are based in Manilva and organize monthly networking events to bring together the business community on the western Costa del Sol. They also offer in Manilva and Marbella.
As well as being a village, Manilva is also a province which is popular with residents due to its low property prices and proximity to Gibraltar and the many career opportunities there. Manilva province includes the towns of Sabinillas on the coast, which has a lovely seaside promenade, cafes, restaurants, shops and wide sandy beaches. It also includes the popular Puerto de la Duquesa which is a pretty port, surrounded by restaurants, bars and cafes catering for a predominantly British crowd. Also in the area is the charming Castillo de la Duquesa with a pretty castle overlooking a little village famous for its excellent fish restaurants and there are regular events hosted in the castle.
It’s a good area for families, with loads of parks and playgrounds and three schools; one in Manilva Pueblo (Pablo Picasso), and two in Sabinillas – San Luis and Maicandil. Maicandil is a relatively new school and has been geared up to the foreign resident population, with English speaking staff and teachers ready to help students with low levels of English.
Manilva Town Hall are very active organizing events and putting on special activities and you can keep up to date on the latest activities on the Foreigners’ Department Facebook page.
