Deals in Spain launches in Madrid
Website helps English-speakers find the best discounts while in Spain
A new website featuring huge discounts on restaurants and things to do in Spain has launched.
helps holidaymakers and expats find more discounts in Spain beyond just cheap flights and accommodation. It features exclusive offers on places to eat and attractions in Madrid – and soon Barcelona, Valencia and many other Spanish cities and tourist destinations.
The site – which is similar to daily deals portals like Groupon – was developed after British founders Simeon Stewart and Joshua Saxon realised there was a need to help English-speaking tourists and expats save more money.
Simeon – who now lives in Madrid – said the conversations he has been having with business owners demonstrates how keen they are to attract tourists.
He said: “Top tourist destinations in Spain such as Madrid and Barcelona offer a lot for English-speaking tourists. However, apart from flights and hotels, it’s not easy for tourists to know about the latest deals when they arrive because all the daily deals sites like Groupon are in Spanish.
“We speak to businesses who want to offer big discounts to attract tourists. When you see the discounts they are offering, it’s clear just how keen they are.”
Customers logging onto Deals in Spain are presented with a number of deals in their chosen location. They can simply purchase the coupon for a small percentage of the deal price, take the coupon to the merchant, and pay the remainder when the arrive.
Simeon added: “We know many tourists find it hard to look at foreign currency with the same sense of value as they do their own. But it’s not Monopoly money! Deals in Spain is here to show that once you’ve booked a great deal on a flight and hotel, there are plenty more discounts to be had.”
