‘Jávea Players are one of the longest running amateur dramatics groups on the Costa Blanca. They started in 1976 with ‘Murder by Request’ and have gone on to produce a hugely diverse number of plays over the years to date, averaging around three to four productions per year. They are a very friendly bunch of people who have honed many ‘theatrical skills’ from directing through to sound and lighting effects and have a wonderful array of in-house acting talent. Recent productions include Wind in the Willows, ‘Allo ‘Allo, The Wyrd Sisters, A Mad Breakfast, Quartet and A chip in the Sugar. All productions utilize a large number of members, and the Players are always looking for new talent, young and old, no matter how hidden it is! If you fancy treading the boards, take a look at our website at www.javeaplayers.com and please do make contact with us. The emphasis is always on having fun!’
The next great production from the JAVEA PLAYERS – The Ancient Mariner. This is the dramatised version of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner from the evocative poem by S.T Coleridge, directed by Cherry Cabban. Sea shanties, Irish music, the sad death of the albatross, all set within a 19th century wedding feast.
