If you surf the net, you can find thousands and thousands of pages about Spain, thousands and thousands of pages about Spanish property and almost zero about Spain with and/or for children. I was delighted to find Marbella Family Fun and, whilst its focus is Marbella, there is much useful information about the Costa del Sol in particular and Spain in general.

Marbella is a 30 minute journey westward along the coast from Fuengirola by car. You have the option of the toll motorway or the N340 coast road. There are regular buses from Fuengirola bus station and there is “talk” of the local railway line being extended all the way into Marbella. Watch this space! Whilst Marbella may be famous for its glitz and glamour, court cases and corruption, these are probably not things that are going to interest a child. So what does Marbella offer children …. and their parents?

So, there you have it – a genuine “must-read”site for all those who have children in Spain or intend travelling here for the younger ones. As this is very much a “work in progress” and a collaborative project, you will be able to praise where praise is due and advise on what it not to be recommended. In particular the sections on food and eating out should be read as a child’s idea of a great restaurant may not be yours ….. or vice versa. Enjoy!
