Cudeca provide palliative care to patients suffering from advanced cancer, also offering emotional and spiritual support to their families, throughout the province of Malaga since 1992.
On the 9th October 2013, the Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice, received a visit from 14 members of Costa Women with the objective of presenting their charity book in aid of our Special Kind of Caring.
The book, “Diversity Meets Creativity”, is made up of stories, thoughts, images and pictures and is on sale online as an e-book from Amazon.co.uk for £2.93 as well as a paperback version for 7,99€. Proceeds raised from the sale of this book will be for the sole benefit of Cudeca.
The group of ladies, who were also contributors to the book, were taken for a tour around the Hospice Centre and had the opportunity to see how the different areas of the Hospice are run. They were accompanied by Maria Jesus de la Ossa, Coordinator of the Home Care Teams; Rocío Torres, Manager of Communications and Fundraising and Marisa Ballestracci, Tin Coordinator. They were shown the work carried out daily by each person within the care teams, doctors, nurses, physiotherapist, psychologists and social workers.
The ladies showed warm recognition to the social work carried out by the Cudeca staff and volunteers, who every year help more than 800 patients with advanced and non-curable illnesses, and provide support to their families, totally free of charge.
Cudeca Cancer Care Hospice gives heartfelt thanks for the support and solidarity given by Costa Women.
