Visitors can take a safari tour into the beautiful Sierra de las Nieves Park

Keith Smalley, “a 40-something-year-old Englishman,” had a dream for many years of owning an outdoor activity business. After a frustrating four-year process to obtain a business license, his dream finally became a reality, and last year Adventure Spain began offering its unique safari tours. Keith recently spoke to SUR in English about his business:

Why did you decide to start a safari tour in Andalucia?

After visiting the Costa del Sol area several times with my wife Yulia, we were impressed by the fantastic countryside and mountains, and realized it was the perfect location for our dream business. Millions of tourists and visitors come to Andalucia every year, but the majority do not get to experience the countryside. We wanted to provide them with the opportunity to see and do something different.

What is a typical safari like?

Visitors can choose either a full day or half day safari, and whether they want to drive off-road buggies or 4×4 Land Rovers. We begin in the village of Istan, travel to the beautiful Sierra de las Nieves National Park and end with a visit to the historic town of Ronda. On all tours, we go at your pace. There is no set time to finish, so we can stop whenever you want for a rest or photos.
