12,000€ up for grabs for Young Entrepreneurs

YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS are being sought in Torrevieja through the incentive of a competition for the best and most innovative ideas, with 12,000€ in prize money.

The Councillor for Development, M. Carmen Gomez and coach Juan Carlos Carmona are using the competition to promote active employment policies throughout the city of Torrevieja.

The main objective of the X Contest for Young Entrepreneurs is to encourage the creation of new companies, implementing viable business projects to help reduce unemployment in the town of Torrevieja. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, the Department of Employment and Promotion of the City of Torrevieja has increased the prize amount of 1,000€ first prize, from 6,000 to 7,000€, while keeping the five consolation prizes of 1,000 euros each. The deadline for submitting applications will remain open until July 31, 2013. The competition is open to all entrepreneurs with the deadline date for the submission of projects being July 31, 2013, and open to anyone who has not attained age 40, both individuals and legal entities of which at least 51% of the capital must be in the hands of people complying with the above requirement and will constitute a business.

The competition has a first prize of 7,000€ and five second prizes of 1,000€. Those young entrepreneurs who wish to participate can find the forms and rules at the ADL, the Local Development Agency of Torrevieja, Avenida de las Habaneras No. 20, telephone 966 708 846. They detail the criteria for evaluating projects: including the innovative nature of the activity, the economic and technical feasibility, the creation of jobs, respect for the environment, or that the business plan is a collective consisting of assistance to offer work to the disabled, women, immigrants or people at risk of social exclusion.
