NEW VENUES FOR ‘PORTRAIT OF SPAIN’ TALKS
I am now delighted to announce that I will be doing four of my Portrait of Spain talks in Els Poblets, near Denia on two Fridays in May. The events are being organized by Els Poblets English Speaking Residents Group and will be held in the Salon de Actos of the Casa de Cultura, Av. Mestre Vicent, Els Poblets at the following times.
Friday May 7th 11 a.m. Talk 1. Spain under Franco
The man, his background, how he came to power,
what life was like during his dictatorship and his demise.
Friday May 7th 3 p.m. Talk 2. Dictatorship to Democracy
Often referred to as a modern miracle, how Spain peacefully transformed itself into a democratic country.
Friday May 14th 11 a .m. Talk 3. The Geography of Spain.
A look at the glorious landscapes and cultures that make up this fantastically varied country.
Friday May 14th 3 p.m. Talk 4. Moorish Spain.
800 years of fascinating history which still influences life today.
